What are you looking most forward to at PLACEx?

 

"It is always a joy to meet peers and partners, colleagues and competitors from all over at the PlaceX event. However, this year is different. In a world in such a disruptive manner, it is more important than ever to share insights, experiences, learn from each other and work together. Especially for us in Europe." 

 

What is the key topic of your talk?

 

"How investment promotion can play a role in addressing the world's key societal challenges. As our activities primarily are taxpayer financed, we need to ensure that on top of creating value in terms of jobs and investments, we also address some of the challenges in our societies. I will share some of our thoughts, actions and experiences." 

 

What are you most eager to discuss with the audience related to your talk?

 

"Do we even agree on the key societal challenges across countries? I am not certain of that. And how do we work with partners, companies etc." 

 

From your job/organisation's point of view, what do you see as the most interesting industry developments or trends here 2025 when we talk about place attractiveness?

 

"The end of the globalization era, more local/regional production, protectionism, the scarcity of qualified labour and the rise of the defense industry." 

 

For the remainder of 2025, what do you see as the biggest challenge(s) for your place to be attractive to your main target audience?

"Primarily uncertainty of the world situation, even we offer a stable political system, a thriving economy, the best business environment and very high liveability. However, in the world of today many companies are uncertain of the world economy and geopolitical environment, so many decisions are being pushed till more certain times with higher clarity."
